For the best possible experience, we recommend three overnight stays at hand-picked hotels in Oslo, Flåm, and Bergen. Options include the routes Oslo-Flåm-Bergen or Bergen-Flåm-Oslo, and either the basic or premium fjord cruise in Nærøyfjord.
These routes offer the best of Norway’s pure and unique beauty in the shortest time span. Using public transportation gives you the flexibility to go at your own pace in an environmentally friendly way, while seeing areas of Norway less accessible by car or a single mode of transport.

Depending on when you arrive to Oslo, spend the first day exploring the nation’s capital or go directly to your hotel to rest for the adventure ahead.
Check in at your convenience to the Anker Apartment, who have a 24-hour front desk. The closest landmarks in the area include Botanical Garden, the Natural History Museum, and Birkelunden, all within walking distance.

Set out from the city on the scenic route to Myrdal with the Bergen Railway, a comfortable, spacious long-distance train. Take a quick breath of mountain air, and change trains at Myrdal to the fantastic Flåm Railway, one of the most spectacular railway journeys on earth according to Lonely Planet.
Starting from sea level and rising to 900 metres, the journey offers brilliant photo opportunities for panoramic views that range from mountain sides to narrow valleys and dramatic waterfalls. Once in Flåm, you are surrounded by a branch of the world’s second-largest fjord: the Sognefjord. Here there are opportunities to hike and participate in additional activities, or simply sit down for a drink and take in the sights.
After a long day of travel, stay at the Flåmsbrygga Hotel just 100 metres from the train station. The hotel has a Norse-themed restaurant & pub that brews its own beer, with the possibility for beer tastings. Some rooms also have a balcony view of the Aurland Fjord.
Train duration: 4.5 – 5 hrs to Myrdal, 1 hr to Flåm

The next morning, walk 50 metres to your booked fjord cruise on the Aurlandsfjord (a branch of Sognefjord) and Nærøyfjord. Included in the premium fjord cruise option is the “Vision of the Fjords” hybrid vessel with high levels of comfort and large windows for viewing in any weather, as well as a beautiful roof area. Its innovative eco-technology design allows battery-operated silence in the most spectacular points of the tour, kept to less than 10 knots.
The UNESCO World Heritage landscape takes you through the calm, stunning views of Aurlandsfjord, followed by the dramatic, narrow valley sides and mountain peaks of Nærøyfjord.
Cruise duration: 2 – 4 hrs
Upon arrival in Gudvangen, take the bus through the small villages of Nærøydalen. If you’re traveling between May-September, the bus trip includes the thrilling route down the steep bends of Stalheimskleiva. Once at your final destination in Voss, the last leg of the trip continues by train on the Bergen Railway to Bergen.
Travel duration: 1 hr to Voss, 1 hr to Bergen
Stay one last night in Bergen at the Magic Hotel Korskirken and explore the history and tradition behind its charming harbour. The international city also hosts a wide range of concerts and international festivals that you may want to check before choosing the dates for your tour.

On the final day, depart from Bergen.
The train station connecting back to Oslo is within the city centre, while Bergen Airport is a 20 minute drive away.
If you are arriving in Bergen first, we offer the option of staying there the first night, continuing with the bus and cruise to Flåm, and taking the scenic railway to Oslo as your final destination. All transportation routes and accommodation remain the same.
