This trip is designed to leave you with wonderful memories, it packs in a Northern Lights hunt, an exciting dog sledding ride OR a thrilling Snowmobiling tour, an Aurora Chase, and a guided tour of the magical new Ice Domes!

Packages with flights include departures from most UK airports. Only holidays booked in conjunction with flights are covered under our ATOL license. Through our membership with The Travel Vault, other packages are also financially protected in accordance with the EU Package Travel Regulations at no extra cost to customers.

Day 1: Night in Tromsø
Arrival Tromsø
(Norwegian Airlines direct from Gatwick lands 18:45)
This trip corresponds perfectly with Norwegian Airlines’ direct flight departure from Gatwick on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, but we have also coordinated itineraries with SAS flights running via Oslo. If you want to combine the trip with other flights or additional nights, please contact us and we will help accommodate your trip.
The Airport Express transfer service easily gets your hotel, Clarion The Edge in Tromsø, for check-in. An optional alternative is a taxi from the service desk at the arrivals hall.

Day 2: Ice Hotel, Action Adventure & Northern Lights
Spend a day in the arctic wilderness

The snow and ice art reflect the unique bond between man and nature in a unique and breath-taking manner. The ice bars, our ice cinema, the ice hotel suites, and ice restaurant have varied themes every year. These are conveyed through beautiful coloured lighting and wondrous ice sculptures. In our guided tours, we paint a detailed description of arctic history. Tromsø Ice Hotel is much more than just an ice art exhibition or a regular ice hotel.
On arrival, you will be greeted by your guide, who will first direct you either to the Ice Domes or your action-adventure. They will start by explaining the construction process of an ice hotel, and the impact on snow for the survival of our arctic animals. A non-alcoholic ice shot at the stunning ice bar is complimentary. There will also be time to admire the reindeer surrounding the Ice Domes, who eat right out of your hand!
Option 1: Dog Sledding (ages 10+)
Drive your own team of happy huskies! Upon arrival at our dog yard, you will receive outdoor clothes and shoes to keep you warm during your stay. You will get instructions on how to drive a dog sledding team by experienced mushers. You will be driving in pairs. One driver and one passenger on each sled, with the opportunity to switch places halfway.
Drive through magnificent untouched landscapes. Your trusty team of huskies leads the way into the Arctic wilderness. Depending on the weather, you will be on the sled for about 1,5-2 hours. At the end of the trail, you will return to the kennel where you will be served hot drinks and a bowl of warm soup, with a vegetarian option on request (please write this in comments when booking!).
Option 2: Snowmobile Safari
(Passengers ages 14+, must be 18+ and hold a valid driver’s license to drive the snowmobile)
Upon arrival at the wilderness centre, we provide you with warm clothes and shoes. We begin the adventure with a thorough safety introduction and practical demonstration. You don´t need any previous skills to drive a snowmobile, all you need is to be in an adequate physical condition.
You will be driving in pairs. One driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with the opportunity to switch places during the trip. This tour will bring you past scenic mountains and through the dramatic snow-covered Finn valley. It starts 250m above sea level and climbs up to 900m. You will be on the snowmobiling track for approximately 2 hours. Depending on the weather and snow conditions.

19:00 Northern Lights Safari
Chase the magical Northern Lights! With 10 years’ experience in Northern Lights tours, the focus is on quality, comfort and ensuring that you have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
After around two hours, there will be a break at an exclusive Aurora Camp out in the wilderness. These camps have two comfortable lavvos (Sami tents) and toilet facilities. You will in groups of no more than 20 people in each lavvo and served hot drinks. Listen to enchanting Arctic stories while grilling your own supper on an open fire.
Although Northern Lights sightings are never guaranteed, they will be spotted most of the time. Join us for a chase and experience the thrill! When the time comes, we will bring you back to Tromsø and you will get a ride to your hotel.
NB: Northern lights sightings cannot be guaranteed due to weather and solar conditions, but we will do our very best!

Day 3: Gateway to the Arctic
Day in Tromsø & Departure
Spend the day exploring Tromsø, exploring all shopping, culture, history, and more, such as Tromsø’s Arctic Cathedral. Ask us for more recommendations.

Optional 3-Night
Make the best of your trip and stay a third night! You can add any of the additional activities mentioned, and a second Northern Lights activity. The Northern Lights Chase will be on Night 3 to space out your included activities, but you are welcome to add another Northern light activity on Night 2.

Day 4 in Tromsø & Departure
Pick up your final souvenirs before heading back to reality. We can recommend cool places to go and things to see that you won’t find back home, including:
- Fjellheisen Cable Car up to the best view of Tromsø
- The Polar Museum
- The Arctic Cathedral

Scandinavian Airlines flies to Tromsø daily via Oslo from Heathrow and other UK airports. If you want to combine the trip with other flights, please check flights when booking or contact us if you cannot find your preferred departure airport and we will accommodate your transfers. **Bring a warm hat, gloves, and scarf, thermal wool or similar long johns and underwear as well as warm winter boots and socks. We recommend you also bring Gortex trousers and a Gortex or down jacket.
