Location
There are two routes to Sommarøy Arctic Hotel from Tromsø Airport. Either route takes around one hour (50-70km) by car, a lovely trip passing fjords and mountains. For summer travellers, the favourite transport method is bicycle. These can be hired in groups, lasting between 2 – 4 hrs. If you’ve had a long journey and just want to get there and relax, taxis cost around £140 one-way.
Public buses also run Monday – Friday between Tromsø Airport and Sommarøy. You can check the most up-to-date route schedule information Tromsø’s route planner page. Type ‘from’ Flyplassen (Tromsø) ‘to’ Hillesøy v.kr. (Tromso), and the opposite for your return journey. A one-way ticket is approximately £12 for adults and £6 for children.
